Sludge cake hopper is a collection and storage device for the dewatering sludge cake after dewatering equipment. The sludge cake will be input on top and discharge at bottom. The hopper body will be design to resist the bending stress by inside pressure. When the sludge reaches a certain amount, the valve at the bottom of the hopper will be opened to discharge to sludge cake to the truck directly.

It can be equipped to store the sludge cake produced by screw type sludge dehydrator, belt filter press, centrifuge and plate frame filter press.

Generally, in newly built sludge dewatering rooms, the dehydrator is placed on the second floor, so the sludge hopper is fixed on the second flat floor. This allows trucks to catch the sludge directly at the bottom, making it convenient to operate and maintain.

If a sludge hopper is placed on flat ground, a scaffold is usually used to raise the unit. The height and width of the scaffold are designed for easy truck entry and exit. Sludge is fed into the hopper by a shaftless screw conveyor.
